This cocktail was published in 1945 in David Embry's the Fine Art of Mixing Drinks and is supposedly named after the Army & Navy club in Washington DC. We have added a touch of hazelnut liqueur to dial up the nutty, autumnal notes and compliment the white flower flavour profile you would find in a fine Chablis.

Almond & Hazelnut

Ingredients / Measures

  • / 20ml lemon juice
  • / 10ml orgeat/ almond syrup
  • / 10ml hazelnut liqueur
  • / 50ml renais
  • / 2 dashes angostura bitters
  • / 1 pinch of salt
  • / Garnish with a twist of lemon

Step 1:

Add all ingredients to a shaker, add ice and shake.

 

Step 2:

Double strain into a frozen glass.

 

Step 3:

Garnish with a lemon twist, expressing it’s oils before adding to the drink.
